FAQs for Industry Members
- As a judge, what is my time commitment? As a judge, you will be given approximately one month to read 3-4 scripts.
- When do I have to have my scores in? The deadline for scoring is April 30,2021.
- Does the student know who I am? Judging is completely anonymous.
- Will I be compensated for this? While we would like to offer a form of compensation, this is an entirely student-run competition and does not have the requisite funds.
- Can I pick the format that I judge? Yes, you have the option of selecting your format preference: Feature, Feature Adaptation, or TV. We will do our best to ensure that you are matched with your preferred format.
- Can I pick the genre that I judge? Yes, you have the option of selecting your genre preference: Comedy or Drama. We will do our best to ensure that you are matched with your preferred genre.
- Can I contact someone from a script that I read? Yes, in your evaluation there is an option to request the student's contact information. The student will not receive the judge's information, however, unless the judge chooses to contact them.
- Will I be able to get access to the finalist scripts? Yes, after the competition has concluded, a packet of the finalist scripts will be sent out.
- Will the results of this competition be announced in the trades? Last year's competition was announced in Deadline.
